Weird Music Night- Nov 14th

  • Ely Center of Contemporary Art 162 James Street New Haven, CT, 06513 United States (map)

Weird Music Night returns to the Ely Center of Contemporary Art on Saturday, November 14, for an evening of experimental music, noise, animation, puppetry, and unconventional performance. Founded and curated by artist John O’Donnell, Weird Music Night brings together musicians, visual artists, and performers who explore the boundaries of sound and contemporary art. Embracing the unexpected, the series provides a platform for unusual collaborations, artistic experimentation, and performances that challenge conventional definitions of music.

The evening will be hosted by A.I. Pacino, the experimental performance persona of John O’Donnell. A parody of artificial intelligence and popular culture, A.I. Pacino uses humor, music, and absurdist performance to explore the increasingly blurred boundaries between human creativity and technology. Despite the name, A.I. Pacino is human-created, and it shows. A human desperately trying to be a machine programmed for provocative entertainment.

Weird Music Night is a recurring performance series at the Ely Center of Contemporary Art in New Haven. The series has presented more than 200 performers and expanded to venues and events in New York City, Miami, Austin and throughout Connecticut.
