Marcela works in a variety of media. Her cut paper collages—particularly—allow her to combine her architectural background and her illustrator skills in a single medium. She calls it “three dimensional cut paper collage.”
Marcela is a graduate of the Children's Book Illustration Certificate Program at the Rhode Island School of Design and the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Universidad Nacional de Tucuman in Argentina.
“I create illustrations in response to stories of my own authorship. With these narratives I intend to transmit a message of hope and wonder for children and for the child inside each one of us. I work with cut paper. This allows me to combine my architectural background and my illustrator skills in a single medium. I call it three-dimensional cut paper collage.
By the nature of the medium and the subject matter of my work, children will probably have a special interest in it.”
